We are looking forward to moving to the area and would highly recommend staying in this lovely house. Shelly made dinner, helped with laundry, and even made almond milk from scratch, just for me! I had a great experience staying at Jim's rental. We can't wait to stay here again! Cool Creek is in a rural setting but within 15 minutes of Pittsboro and Saxapahaw and three minutes from the Shakori Hills music center. It was a wonderful get away for all 5 of us, and a reminder of what's really important in life.
Please note that this property is on a wooded lot down a short gravel driveway. She is a chef and welcomed us with fresh arugula and cheese upon our arrival. The weather was cold when we there, but it was very relaxing to look out the window and see the rolling hills and cows in the distance.
A North Carolina Experience
Would definitely recommend this space, and I definitely want to come back!! It was quaint, and plenty of room to stretch out in. My communication with Jim was simple and pleasant, and he even checked on the cleaning schedule for me because I was getting into town earlier than the normal check-in time. Honestly an amazing experience, my family was able to relax and enjoy the outdoors, Buster and Caroline were great, quick to answer any questions and they had a lot of games and things for us to use outside. Thank you Tami and Lyle!!! We are nestled in the woods an easy 5 miles south of UNC campus.
Many new spots opening every month as this area is growing fast! Would definitely stay again. If you're a walker or runner we have a great neighborhood for that:
We never met our host; the door was simply left open for us. Great place to stay! The evening traffic is no more than a neighborhood street in the evening. Just a little more tidying up and this place could be rocking!
You are here
Thanks for the memories! The neighbor next door that shares the other side of the house was wonderful! Beautiful place, clean, comfortable. Star gazing enthusiasts would gather with telescopes above, while the sparks flew below.
The house has an updated, fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms -- two with queen beds, and one with a double and one twin -- and one and a half baths. The ambient lighting is wonderful with big ceiling fans and a floor lamp to enjoy reading. It took several years for me to find just the right property that was secluded yet nearby to urban centers and services. Beautiful place, clean, comfortable. Marco couldn't have been more accommodating, and even his neighbors were very friendly. Jamie is an excellent host!
RDU is about 30 minutes away. On 300 acres of longleaf pines and cypress trees in the Sandhills of North Carolina, Monroe Camp and Retreat Center more lovingly known as Camp Monroe provides the perfect setting for our diverse, challenging, and fun programs. You wind through a wooded area for a while before finally pulling up to a very private little homestead, and the guesthouse is situated a ways away from Jim's house. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard. We barely wanted to go out because the house itself was so nice and relaxing. Everything is brand new and top of the line!
Peace and Quiet in Pittsboro! Friendly hosts in a multiple residence unit, but still lots of privacy. Located near Haw River access points for kayaking or fishing. One bed on ground level, one bed upstairs.

What a lovely home with a picturesque setting. Great value and cute house. This year 2016 , we've continued the modern updates with new flooring, paint, wifi, and complete furnishings. The trail system on the property is beautiful and easy to navigate. A very beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood out of town.
- Joel is a great host - he provided some really good local info and communicated very well. Please note that this property is on a wooded lot down a short gravel driveway. The front porch and huge rear screened porch offer an opportunity to take in the view and listen to the birds, owls, coyote and other animals while sipping your coffee, tea or wine. The West Wing is guest quarters to a residence on 15 acres 5 miles south of Chapel Hill.
- It was quaint, and plenty of room to stretch out in. Ideal for friends or a family. Also thought it was more tucked away in the woods but it was off of a main road.
Whether you are an artist, writer or just want to enjoy serenity or a romantic time away, you will be sure to draw inspiration from this setting. Rain's home is comfortable and beautiful, with everything you need to settle in and feel at home. There are many wonderful restaurants within a ten minute drive of the property. This newly remodeled home is on 4 wooded acres in Pittsboro.
We will absolutely look forward to staying here again in the future. Enjoy peace and quiet far removed from civilization, yet everything is less than a 10 minute drive. Thank you Elizabeth, and we look forward to a return visit.
The host canceled this reservation 16 days before arrival. The entire second floor awaits you - 630 sq ft - see floor plan. Rain was very responsive and made the whole process easy and effortless. On the last Sunday of the month, we typically gather friends and neighbors to have a "Sunday Circle" which is poetry, joys and concerns and some topic of interest delivered by whomever volunteers to do it! Lovely home in the woods.
Cozy house close to 15-501. The house has an updated, fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms -- two with queen beds, and one with a double and one twin -- and one and a half baths. We arrived on a rainy, cold December night and were welcomed by Elizabeth, who gave us a personal tour and shared details of the home's history. I went in and out a side entrance which made things easy. Coffee on the porch with the horses grazing nearby was the perfect way to start the day before exploring the area.
